VL400 NT4 Audio Driver

IMPORTANT WARNINGS:

SET PNP OS FIELD IN BIOS SETUP TO NO BEFORE INSTALLING THIS DRIVER (SEE KNOWN ISSUES SECTION)

 

This driver requires Service pack 4 or higher.

·          HP version number: 9CN28RH1 including 4.01.4022 MIDI for CrystalWave Synthesis software

 

To check the supplier version of the installed driver:

Right-click on the CWANTR0.SYS file provided with the package, and click on the "version" tab.

 

Installation

 

To Install the Crystal Audio Driver, please follow the following procedure:

 

Installation Steps

Check in your Bios setup that PnP OS field is set to NO. If it is set to YES, the installation will end up with an incomplete driver!

To install the audio driver (Audio for “Crystal audio codec” for wave input/output driver):

Please follow the installation instructions described in file NT_4_Installer_Readme.pdf located in the doc folder

To install the MIDI for “Crystal Wave Synth.” Software (for MIDI input/output driver (revision 4.01.4022)):

Run the setup.exe installer located in the “CW4022” folder and then chose to install the driver

 

 

 

Un-Installation Steps

Changes

 

·          This new release aims to fix all reported Blue Screen issues

 

Fixes

 

The following issues are fixed:

·          Blue screen crash when playing Shockwave for extended periods.

·          Blue screen crash when installing driver with PNP set to Yes in Bios.

·          If a PC using previous driver revisions is upgraded to Win 2000, the update will end up in a blue screen.

 

Known issues

 

·          If installation is performed with PnP OS Bios setup field to YES, the installation will end up with an incomplete driver.

·          If RealPlayer8 Basic is installed and an audio CD is inserted, Master volume level jumps.

·          Very tiny clicks may be heard when pressing pause or stop during wave playback.

 

Known limitations

 

·          MIDI driver (for MIDI input/output) only works only if  “Crystal audio codec” (for wave input/output driver) is installed.

·          This driver requires service pack 4 or higher.

·          Un-Installer does not delete all installation driver files from Hard Disk Drive even if driver is uninstalled.

·          Simultaneous playback of .wav and midi files is not supported.
