SAI KZ VII

The KZ VII is a 4-seat development of the KZ III. The prototype first flew on November 11th 1946. A total of 56 KZ VII were built.

In 1947 the KZ VII was in full production when 22 airplanes on the production line were destroyed as a result of a fire at the Scandinavian Aero Industry.

In civilian life the aircraft was used for training and touring. Quite a number were exported, for example to Finland and Switzerland, where they still are flying. There are at present about 20 KZ VII´s on Danish register.

The museum's KZ VII (OY-AAU) was presented to the museum in September 1990 by Karl Emil Danielsen, AERODAN, Aerial Photographers. Karl Emil Danielsen was a former employee with Scandinavian Aero Industry  In 1948 10 KZ VII were delivered to the Danish Air Force. Originally the plane had a 125 h.p. engine but this was later replaced by a 145 h.p. engine. The Air force used the aircraft as a trainer until 1950 and afterwards as a courier plane until it was phased out in 1977.
