Saving and Restoring Definitions

Choosing Save Definitions from the Define submenu has the effect of storing all the currently active definitions in the working copy of the current document. When the document is saved, the definitions are saved with it. Restore Definitions does exactly the reverse—it takes any definitions stored with the current document and makes them active.

For each document, you can set the system

1.
not to save or restore definitions automatically (in which case you must actively choose to save or restore definitions when you wish to do so),

2.
to give you a prompt when you enter or exit the document asking whether you wish to save or restore definitions, or

3.
to save or restore definitions automatically.

To set the system to one of these options, from the Maple menu choose Settings, Definition Options, and make your choices in the dialog box. dtbpF4.1961in2.5832in0ptmaplsetd.wmf

The default for each new document is Always Save and Always Restore.
