Exercise 3
Analyzing Your Site's Structure Using the URL Tree View
This exercise will show how the "URL Tree" view can be
used to explore the structure of your site.
The URL Tree represents the organization of your entire Web site. At
the root of the tree, Linkbot shows the starting page of your Web site (http://tetranetsoftware.com/ is shown below).
The sub nodes below the root represent all of the URLs Linkbot
encountered on the first page of the site. Just like the Windows 95 file Explorer, each
URL with a "+" beside it means there are more links within it. Click on the
"+" to reveal each deeper level of sub nodes.
The tree view will continue to branch until there are no more URLs
left or until it encounters a URL that it has already checked. When Linkbot encounters a
duplicate link at a lower level it will display the URL in the tree but will not
branch any further. This stops Linkbot from getting stuck in an infinite loop.
