Week starts on Monday | If checked the first day displayed in a calendar row will be Monday instead of Sunday (default). |
Show Sundays in red | If checked Sundays will be displayed with red color to indicate a special day. |
Mark days with events in calendar | If checked days with events/appointments are colored. Otherwise no indication that the day has events is given. |
Show tooltips for days | If checked events/appointments are displayed when the mouse pointer is over a day. |
Show calendar week numbers | If checked the calendar drawer shows calendar week numbers and is slightly wider. If calendar week numbers are shown you are able to select them to get a list of events/appointments for that week. |
Show To Do Items | Select which items should be displayed. Default is all items (without restriction). But one can restrict to several time frames. This helps to keep the list of to do items reasonably short. |
Show To Do Items (above events/below events) | This setting is for the list display. If both events and to do items are displayed you can choose to show the to do items above or below the events. |
Animate opening of calendar window | If checked the calendar window will smoothly slide out from the menu bar. Otherwise it appears immediately on opening. You may want to disable the animation on slower systems. |
Show mouse over effects | If checked clickable areas such as days, weeks and the month name show a ring when the mouse pointer is over them. This helps to identify clickable areas. |
Show additional days in event list | By default a selection of a day, a week or a month shows a list of events for that selection. With this option you can extend the timeframe. This is very handy if you want to look into the 'future'. |
Window background color | Click the color well to define a background color for the calendar drawer. To reset the color to factory defaults use the button "Default Setting". |
To customize the clock format choose "Time Format" from the tab view and either select one of the predefined formats from the popup list or define one by yourself (experts only).

To customize the font and the color of the clock choose "Font & Color" from the tab view. The "Set Font..." button shows the standard font panel which lets you choose an arbitrary font. Take care that the font fits into the menubar. The color well is for changing the font's color. To return to the "factory defaults" hit the "Default Setting" button.
In the bottom area you can choose one of three items to show in the menubar. By selecting "Left" or "Right" you specify the orientation of the menubar icon relative to the other menubar icons.
"Hide calendar automatically:" selects if the calendar should hide automatically when one of the following conditions is met. "Never" closes never, "When using other applications" hides the calendar when another application is brought to front and "xx seconds after opening" hides after the specified duration (put the duration into the text field).
"Hotkey Activation" selects if MenuCalendarClock can be shown with a system wide hotkey. The default hotkey is "Command-Option-Control-C". Registered users can change the hotkey to their linking by pressing the "Set Hotkey" button and then pressing the desired hotkey. To return to the standard hotkey press "Restore Default".
"Automatic update check" selects if a automatic update check should be performed regularly. Registered users are able to disable this.
"Select today's date when opening the calendar" automatically selects the current day in the calendar and so shows the events for today.
"Double-click opens iCal in Day View" selects if a double-click on a day switches iCal to day view regardless of the current setting in iCal.
You may even automatically set an alarm for the birthday entries. To do this check 'XX days in advance' and specify the number of days where you will be notified before a birthday day. Adding a sound to the notification is also possible (check box 'add sound to message'). This feature is only available in the registered version.
