Q: How do I install an updated version of MenuCalendarClock?
A: When MenuCalendarClock is running, open the calendar drawer by clicking the menu item. Use the "Quit" entry from the action menu ("gear" popup menu) to quit the old MenuCalendarClock version. Copy the new version over the old one. Run the new version by double clicking its Finder icon.

Q: Why can MenuCalendarClock's menu icon not be moved like Apple's?
A: Apple does not allow 3rd party developers to make movable menu items. The available "Status Items" are not moveable and the moveable "Menu Extras" are not available (no public API). There are ways to hack into Cocoa to create a "Menu Extra" but we do not think that is the way to go.

Please provide feedback to Apple using the Customer feedback web page and tell them that you want NSStatusItems (like MenuCalendarClock) to be moveable.

Q: Why does MenuCalendarClock make an internet connection?
A: At most once a week, MenuCalendarClock tries to check the URL http://www.objectpark.net/updateCheck/MenuCalendarClock.plist in order to get information on updates. No data is being sent to the server. This functionality can be disabled in the preference panel.

Q: How do I stop MenuCalendarClock?
A: The regular way is to use the "Quit" entry from the action menu ("gear" popup menu on the calendar drawer) to quit MenuCalendarClock. If - for any reason - you are unable to use MenuCalendarClock, launch the 'Activity Monitor' utility application and 'Force Quit' it. If you want to send us a bug report, 'analyse' MenuCalendarClock from the 'information' dialog before force quitting. Send us the analysis by email.

Q: I sometimes get tooltips within the drawer and sometimes I don't. Why?
A: You are running a Mac OS prior to 10.3 (Panther) and MenuCalendarClock is in the background. On Pre-Panther systems there is no way to display the tooltips while the application is in the background. In order to work around this, click on a non-active part of the drawer to make MenuCalendarClock the active application.

Q: MenuCalendarClock does not accept my registration information. Why?
A: You probably entered your name or code differently than written in your registration email. Please be sure to use exactly the same spelling for code and name!.

Q: How can I have MenuCalendarClock mark birthdays?
A: Within MenuCalendarClock, choose Preferences=>Birthdays=>Copy birthdays into this iCal calendar. Then launch the "Address Book" application, choose a person and use the "add birthday" menu entry from the "add fields" submenu. Enter a birthday for the person. Don't forget to uncheck the edit button. The new birthday should now show up in MenuCalendarClock.

Q: The day number in the menu icon looks odd, thin or too big. What's wrong?
A: Make sure you have the font named "HelveticaNeue-Bold" activated in your setup. This can be done using the "Font Book" application.
