The record tool allows you to record you composition.
Notes:
(o) The record tool has 20 seconds of recording time available.
This is because of a memory issue. But it should be long enough for
most loops.
(o) Stop recording stops recording. The timer will count up to 19 and
when it reaches 20 the time will change to full.
(o) The play button plays the sound that was recorded.
(o) Stop playing stops playing the recorded sound. Make sure to hit
stop play before starting to record otherwise you will re-record what
is being played. Although you may actually want to do this at some tie
or another for an effect.
(o) Save to file opens up an interface to save your recorded sound to
disk.
(o) Done closes the window.
(o) For information about setting up your sound card for recording see
the recording properties bellow.
Recording Properties allows you to select your recording
device.
Notes:
(o) The Recording Properties window allows you to select your recording
device on your sound card.
(o) For you to be able to actually record from Beat It you need a
full duplex sound card as well the sound card must support the recording
device wave.
(o) Use the drop down menu and select the wave device. It doesn't
matter that the wave device is emulated.
(o) If their is no wave device bring up your volume control for windows
by double clicking on the speaker icon in the system tray. Once the
volume control is up click on the options menu and then properties.
Chose the adjust volume for recording. Make sure your wave device
has a tick next to it. That means that the wave device is now an option.
Go back to Beat It click ok in the properties window and then reopen
it. The wave device should now be an option.
(o) Once you have selected your device click OK
